Candidates from five different clubs make up the six man shortlist for this year's eircom / Soccer Writers Association of Ireland (SWAI) Personality of the Year Award. Drogheda United boss Paul Doolin has already been named Philips Manager of the Year and he has made the final cut along with key defender Brian Shelley who was recently crowned the PFAI's Player of the Season.
The shortlist for eircom/SWAI Goalkeeper of the Year Award has been announced and it includes title winning goalkeeper Dan Connor who played a key role in Drogheda United's success. Bohemians netminder Brian Murphy is amongst the final trio after an impressive first season for the Gypsies after returning home from the UK. Shamrock Rovers stopper Barry Murphy has also been voted into contention. The Dubliner has been a model of consistency for the Hoops as they re-adjusted to life back in the Premier Division.
Conor Gethins has been named the eircom/Soccer Writers Association Player of the Month for November.
The Finn Harps striker, who has also just been named the PFAI's First Division Player of the Year, picks up the award after a month where his goals fired the Donegal man back into the top flight. Gethins was responsible for three of Harp's goals as they scored a 6-3 aggregate victory over Waterford United in the promotion/relgation playoff.
