Bohemians striker Paddy Madden is the Airtricity/Soccer Writers Association of Ireland Player of the Month for June. The award was presented to the Gypsies striker by Wolves and Ireland striker Kevin Doyle, himself a former winner of the monthly title. The presentation was made at Carton House in advance of Bohs’ friendly clash with Wolverhampton this coming Saturday.
After scoring his first Bohs goals at the Brandywell last September Madden received his first under-21 international cap against Armenia.
The League Championship and Setanta Cup winner has clearly accomplished a lot – and today’s honour is a richly deserved reward for a truly dedicated display from this player during the month of June.
Commenting on his award Paddy Madden said:
“Awards like this are great and hopefully it's the first of many. I would like to thank my team mates and manager Pat Fenlon.
“The hat trick in the cup against Glenville gave me a lot of confidence as I hadn't been scoring as many as I would have liked before that. It was nice to get a feel for the net again.”
